Welcome to South to South, your vacation home from home in the heart of the delightful village of Caux – and if you don't yet know where that is, it's about a 45-minute drive from the city of Montpellier, and neighbour to our big brother town, Pezenas.
South to South is a dream-come-true for Christo and Elise Bredenkamp (that’s us, at South to South, with our pride and joy: Warren, Roxi and Ivy Dauncey; and Garryn, Grethe, Leo and Levi Pretorius). You can read more about our journey and our hopes here and meet South to South property managers, Warren and Roxi Dauncey here. Roxi and Grethe are our daughters and they picked the best sons-in-law for us. Then they went a million steps further and gave us the most adorable grandkids.
This beautiful home in the lap of lush vineyards is spot-on for small groups of friends or an extended family – it offers a three-bedroom (all en-suite and air-conditioned) main house with three reception rooms, a roomy terrace, large dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, plus a one-bedroom self-contained, cool apartment. A swimming pool in the courtyard completes the picture and makes summer living easy, not to mention that it’s a perfect setting for sundowners, sipping the great selection of wines from the neighbourhood, or early morning straight-from-the-oven croissants from the baker down the road.
Caux is in the greater Languedoc district, an area that boasts excellent vineyards and passionate winemakers. Wine tasting, hiking, leisurely walks, village markets, excellent restaurants and great shops are a hop, skip and jump away in Caux or nearby villages, towns and cities.
Added to that, the Mediterranean Sea is only about a 20-minute drive away, and offers superb beaches and seafood restaurants.
We may (or may not, of course) be biased, but we do rather think our little oasis ticks a lot of the boxes that make for a very pleasant holiday in the south of France.
